John Jenkins
John Jenkins is a principal in the Life Practice of Milliman’s London office. He joined Milliman in October 2020.
Experience
John is a highly experienced consulting actuary, with over 35 years of experience in the UK and overseas. He has undertaken the roles of Actuarial Function Holder, With-Profits Actuary, Independent Expert in Transfers of Business, Skilled Person (for the UK regulators), and Expert Witness.
He advises life companies on their solvency and capital management, and on the actuarial aspects of their financial reporting and asset-liability management. He has extensive experience in the field of with-profits, including the management and run-off of closed with-profits funds, and the conversion of with-profits benefits to non-profit or unit-linked benefits using Schemes of Arrangement. He has extensive experience of operating unit-linked business, including the detailed issues which can arise in unit-pricing for such business.
John has extensive experience in the field of M&A and actuarial due diligence, and has advised both buyers and sellers both in the UK and overseas. His experience extends also to designing and implementing reinsurance solutions to solve business problems.
As well as the above areas, John is actively involved in assisting companies with their implementations of International Capital Standards and IFRS 17.
In addition to his UK experience, John has worked extensively with clients in Hong Kong, Ireland, Singapore, and South Africa.
Prior to joining Milliman, John was a Partner with KPMG in the UK for 18 years, where he was involved in advising and auditing some of KPMG’s largest life company groups.
